Made in Britain

Countax joined Made in Britain, the official collective mark for British manufacturers, in February 2019.

The Made in Britain mark is accredited to businesses that sell goods which have been manufactured or have undergone a final substantial change in Britain before sale. The 1000 strong membership includes manufacturers of all sizes, making hundreds of different kinds of product.

Countax prides itself on being a British manufacturing success story, producing garden tractors specifically built for British gardens and weather conditions for over thirty years. During this time the factory, just outside Oxford, has grown substantially to accommodate the demand for the brand in both domestic and export markets. The state-of-the art manufacturing plant uses the latest design and construction techniques, from CAD/CAM and precision laser cutting to lean-build assembly.

Sheets of steel arriving at one end of the factory literally emerge at the other as a completed garden tractor. Each one is built to cope with the unique conditions of the British climate. Electronic controls are weatherproofed and painted components have exceeded a 500 hour test of continuous salt exposure without corrosion. Among the many other Countax innovations is the ability to cut and collect in the wet and the tractors are renowned for producing the characteristic British stripe on the lawn.

Made in Britain supports and promotes domestic manufacturing, enabling buyers and consumers at home and abroad to identify British-made products. Today, Countax tractor mowers are sold throughout Europe and as far away as Australia. Now the brand will be proudly applying the Made in Britain collective mark, making it clear to customers their garden tractor is built in Britain to the very highest standards.
